AVID
"Advancement Via Individual Determination," the AVID Program is a highly successful college preparatory program aimed at historically underserved students at 4 year universities. The mission of AVID is to ensure that all students, especially students in the middle academic range with potential will: succeed in a rigorous curriculum, complete a rigorous college preparatory path, enter mainstream activities of the school, increase their likelihood of applying to and enrolling in four-year colleges, and become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society

Career and Technical Education is about doing, creating and innovating. Students in our programs take what they learn and APPLY it to something tangible, like building robots or extracting DNA. Every program is hands on, and every program gives students the foundational skills to move forward in a career pathway.

Mesa Public Schools Gifted and Talented department is committed to providing appropriate services for students who require differentiated educational services beyond those normally provided by our regular school program. Opportunities for depth and acceleration are offered to meet both affective and cognitive needs of our gifted and talented students.

Taylor Jr. High receives additional supplemental funds through a Title I grant from the federal government to provide extra supplementary services for all of our students. Your Children will benefit directly or indirectly from this extra help. At Taylor Jr. High these funds, along with other federal resources, will be consolidated to support school-wide positive changes.
